Kauser News Agency has received a tip from an insider that Dr Zahra Haq Parast, a prominent women’s rights activist in Kabul, staged the arrest of eight girls on August 20, 2023. The insider claims that the girls were never arrested and that the videos of their arrest were faked.
The Taliban Intelligence Officer GDI has confirmed that they arrested two Taliban members in connection with the fake video.
Kauser News Peshawar, a Pakistani journalist, has also reported that the Pakistani police have confirmed that the girls crossed the Turkhum border between August 14 and 18, 2023.
The insider claims that the fraudulent arrest videos were recorded three days before August 20, on August 17, 2023.
Kauser News Agency contacted Dr Zahra Haq Parast for comment about these claims, she said on WhatsApp text, “Publish your documents sooner and do you want to use the girls’ situation to trap them again? At this time, who else has control over the Taliban’s arms, sir? Put an end to these foolish acts. The media is not so audacious, are you a Taliban member yourself or a Taliban collaborator? Sooner than the girls were in Pakistan and having access to their own documents, I have shared my documents. Let it be known and share your information with everyone sooner, and then do not bother us. I don’t know who you are.” then she blocked the WhatsApp Number
Since August 20, 2023, several other girls have come forward to say that they are concerned that the video of their arrest is fake.
On August 20, 2023, Ms. Zahra Danish, a women’s rights activist, tweeted “The children of the capitalists in Europe and America are busy drinking, taking advantage of the poverty of the foreign children and inciting the poor children to protests. When the girls are arrested, they tweet two or three projects and disappear. No one cares about the poor women.”
At 5:35 AM · Aug 22, 2023, Ms. Zahra Danish tweeted “Case making of Zahra Haq parest’s relatives. 8 women gathered in one house and moved their men with children and essentials in another house and called the police station that the top of the house was attacked. Publish. No one has been arrested.”
A few other women’s rights activists have also reached out to Kauser News Agency and said that they believe Dr Zahra Haq Parast is involved in more fraudulent videos and posters.
Kauser News Agency has contacted the Human Rights Office of the United Nations for comment but has not yet received a response, because of the holiday
