On October 7, 2023, a devastating earthquake struck the western province of Herat, Afghanistan, killing over 2,400 people and destroying the homes of thousands more. Kauser Media Group, based in Sacramento, California, immediately dispatched a team of reporters and journalists to the area to assess the damage and help those affected.
The team found that the earthquake had caused widespread damage, with entire villages flattened and many people left homeless. Kauser Media Group quickly mobilized its resources to provide shelter and support to those in need. The organization has so far helped over 800 children and women, providing them with food, water, clothing, and medical care.
According to a recent survey conducted by Kauser News Agency, over 3,000 families in Herat Province have been affected by the earthquake, with over 1,800 of these families having children. The survey also found that these families are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, including food, water, shelter, and medical care.
Kauser Media Group is currently working with local partners to provide long-term assistance to the victims of the earthquake and plans to provide much-needed humanitarian support such as infant formula, blankets, and woodburning stoves that are essential to surviving the winter.
We are ready and able to distribute the needed supplies, but we need your donations to purchase them. For example, a donation of $25 is enough to provide a woodburning stove and 15 days’ worth of wood.  A $50 donation would add 30 days of infant formula and a large blanket or other necessities based on the families’ needs.
