the cutoff in September 2021, there were discussions and negotiations underway regarding the management and operation of Kabul Airport between Afghanistan and Qatar. Qatar had expressed its interest in playing a role in the airport’s operations, The talks between the two countries were aimed at reaching an agreement on the technical aspects, financial arrangements, and security considerations related to the management of Kabul Airport. Qatar has been involved in various diplomatic efforts in Afghanistan and has been providing humanitarian and development assistance to the country.
According to the Afghan Foreign Minister Media Release report: ”IEA Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi met in Doha with Deputy PM & Foreign Minister of Qatar Mohammad Bin Abdurrahman Al Thani”
”The meeting was also attended by Minister of Mines & Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Dilawar, & Minister of Economy Qari Din Mohammad Hanif The meeting focused on developments regarding on Kabul Airport contract between Afghanistan & Qatar, calling for another meeting to discuss the outstanding matters.”
The discussions also focused on the educational process & economic challenges in Afghanistan.
