Parwana Ibrahimkhel, a human rights activist who was recently released from Taliban custody, held a protest in Berlin on Tuesday, calling for the international community to boycott the Taliban and not recognize their government.
Ibrahimkhel, who was arrested by the Taliban in 2021 for her work promoting women’s rights, said in a speech at the protest that the Taliban are “criminals” who will “never change.”
In a Short Phone call Interview with Kauser News, She said: “recounted the torture I endured in Taliban custody and said the group plans to indoctrinate girls with radical ideology through their education system.
“The Taliban have no intention of allowing girls to receive a real education,” Ibrahimkhel said. “They only want to teach them the radicalism book, which turns all generations into sleeper cells.”
Ibrahimkhel’s protest comes as the Taliban has faced increasing international pressure over their treatment of women and girls. The group has banned girls from attending secondary school and has restricted women’s freedom of movement and expression.
In her speech, Ibrahimkhel called on the international community to “stand with the Afghan people” and to “not recognize the Taliban government.” She also urged countries to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, facing a severe economic crisis.
“The Taliban are not legitimate,” Ibrahimkhel said. “They are a terrorist group that has no place in the 21st century.”
The Afghan Women’s organized the protest in Berlin. Afghan refugees and human rights activists worldwide attended it.
In a statement, the Afghan Women’s said the protest was a “message to the Taliban and the international community that we will not forget the crimes of the Taliban.”
