Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nuraldin Azizi traveled to Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan today, along with a mixed government and private sector delegation. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce officials are scheduled to discuss economic cooperation and investment opportunities with Kazakhstani officials.
The delegation is expected to discuss several areas of potential cooperation, including trade, investment, agriculture, and mining. The officials are also expected to explore ways to increase collaboration between the two countries’ chambers of commerce.
This is the first visit by an Afghan delegation to Kazakhstan since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021. The visit is a sign of the Afghan government’s commitment to rebuilding relations with its neighbors.
Nuraldin Azizi said: “We are looking forward to discussing ways to increase economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan,” said Acting Minister Azizi. “We believe that there are many opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between our two countries.”
The delegation’s visit is being welcomed by Kazakhstani officials. “We are pleased to welcome the Afghan delegation to Kazakhstan,” said Kazakh Minister of Industry and Trade Bakhyt Sultanov. “We are committed to working with Afghanistan to rebuild its economy and promote trade and investment.”
