that the man who verbally abused the Walmart employee was claiming to be an Afghan citizen when he is from Pakistan. This is a harmful stereotype that can lead to discrimination against Afghans. It is important to remember that not all members of any group are the same and that Afghans are just as diverse as any other population group. Sources reached out to Kauser News Agency and confirmed That he is from Pakistan and his real name is Mr. Faz Safi (Muli).
Kauser News Agency contacted Walmart for comment but Walmart has not yet commented on the incident. Kauser News Agency has been able to find out some more information about the man. He has a history of suing businesses in California and he has a case against him at the Alameda County District Attorney’s office from June 2023.
Afghan American and Pakistani American citizens who asked to remain anonymous, reached out to Kauser News Agency to say that they are sorry for what happened to the Walmart employees and to apologize on behalf of Mr. Faz Safi.
They said, “We are so sorry about what happened the 2nd week of July at Walmart and we deeply apologize for the bad behavior of Mr. Faz Safi.” They further wanted to emphasize that this type of insulting and abusive words and behavior does not represent Pakistani or Afghan culture and goes against their beliefs.
An Afghan SIV holder said the response to the incident by Afghans and Pakistanis shows that there is no tolerance in their cultures for this kind of behavior and it is nice of Afghan Americans and Pakistani Americans to come forward and apologize to the Walmart employees. This incident is a reminder that verbal abuse is never okay. It is important to report any incidents of abuse to the proper authorities. We should also be careful not to make harmful generalizations about entire groups of people.
Kauser News tried to contact Mr. Faz Safi for comment but his TikTok account has blocked all messages. But Kauser News Agency did receive a complaint from a person claiming to represent the Afghan American Community. The person sent an email with the subject line, “Urgent Complaint: Correction and Respect for American Afghan Civil Rights.” What follows is the full text of the email:
