DID Press reported that an armed confrontation occurred on October 2 at the Hishnam gold mine in Yamgan district. Local sources attributed the confrontation to competing Taliban-linked groups involved in mining revenues and said one person was wounded. These details rely on local-source reporting and have not been independently verified by KNA. The incident raises questions about oversight of mineral extraction and local security. Further reporting is needed to establish the circumstances, responsibility and any effects on civilian workers.
