Reports from July 2026 describe clashes in Zebak district between Taliban forces and the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF). Amu TV cited residents and Taliban sources who said fighting continued for hours. The AFF claimed that 21 Taliban fighters were killed and 37 wounded in a July 23 operation, while Taliban officials said five attackers had been killed. These are competing claims, not independently verified casualty totals. The reporting documents a period of armed confrontation but does not prove sustained control of territory by either side. KNA has not independently interviewed witnesses or verified battlefield losses.
